Global Hygiene Symposium
The Global Hygiene Symposium aims to catalyze cross-disciplinary collaboration and pave the way for transformative solutions in global health. By doing so, we can expedite progress on hygiene as the cornerstone of well-being.
The first Global Hygiene Symposium, which took place in December 2023 in Singapore, brought together researchers, policymakers and practitioners to explore the potential benefits of closer collaboration and integrated approaches between the hygiene fields and within wider development goals.

Putting Hygiene on the Agenda
RGHI brings hygiene and its benefits to the attention of the public and policymakers to drive a more coordinated and more effective approach. We collaborate with other expert organizations and individuals to advocate for and advise on hygiene issues through convenings, reports, and more.
Non-Academic Publishing
Examples of how we elevate the field of hygiene through well-researched, non-academic influence pieces include:
- Partnering with Chatham House on Driving hygiene behaviors—essential elements of universal healthcare.
- Collaborating with the Economist Group’s Economist Intelligence Unit on A life-course approach to hygiene—understanding burden and behavioural changes.
- Contributing to Reform for Resilience’s Interim Report.
