About Me
I am an Assistant Professor of Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), with 17 years of experience in the economics and financing of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. My research focuses on the economic evaluation of WASH interventions, particularly in measuring and valuing quality of life outcomes, such as through the SanQoL-5 and IWISE-4 indices, and using discrete choice experiments for preference elicitation.
I completed my PhD in Health Economics at LSHTM with ESRC funding and hold an MSc in Development Economics. Before joining LSHTM, I established and led a six-person water team at Oxford Policy Management, delivering WASH consulting projects for clients including the World Bank, DFID, and UNICEF. Before that, I worked in WaterAid’s policy team on research and advocacy, including a period based in Timor-Leste. I co-organise the WASH Economics Conference, run the WASHeconomics.com blog, and serve on the management committee of LSHTM’s Global Health Economics Centre.
